Raehan Bobby Umar, Raeallan
Bobby has an eclectic range of interests. With an undergraduate degree in Engineering and an MBA in Strategic Marketing, he has culminated his talents to lead Raeallan (www.raeallan.com). Bobby is a recognized and accomplished developer and teacher of programs designed to motivate adults and youth. He has acquired over 15 years extensive experience in leadership training through recreation and leadership programs across Canada as well as several teaching positions. Most notably, Bobby currently serves as Assistant Director and Faculty of Arts & Leadership for McMaster University’s Shad Valley summer program for gifted high school youth.
While working at Bombardier as an Aerospace Design Engineer, Bobby founded and ran a successful musical theatre company, Markham Thespian Society, where he supervised a team of over 100 people. In order to switch careers, he attended DeGroote’s MBA co-op program and really dived in. He was President of the MBA Association, received awards in several case competitions, and graduated at the top of his class as Valedictorian.
After his MBA, Bobby worked in brand marketing for companies such as Kraft in Cheese Marketing and Unilever for Dove Masterbrand and the Campaign for Real Beauty. He was Director of the Dove Self-Esteem Fund, supporting organizations across Canada that fostered positive self-esteem in young women. During this time, Bobby was accepted into Second City’s renowned Advanced Conservatory Program, where he honed his improvisation, creative sketch writing, and performance abilities. Bobby is part of a sketch comedy troupe called Fade to Brown (www.fadetobrown.com), serving as a producer, performer, writer, and stage director. Fade to Brown recently developed a TV pilot for OMNI television and will be performing in Vancouver for the MyBindi comedy night.
Within the corporate world, Bobby ran several teambuilding and group dynamic activities for off-sites and conferences for various groups including TD Canada Trust, Canadian Tire, and Ryerson, McMaster, and York universities. Bobby brings an engaging presence, endless exuberance, and dynamic people skills essential to developing and nurturing Raeallan participants.
