Mark Borkowski, Founder and President, Mercantile Mergers and Acquisitions

Mark Borkowski is the Founder and President of Mercantile and Mergers and Acquisitions. Prior to founding Mercantile, Mark was the co-founder and President of Cimtek Automation Systems Inc., an electronics systems builded based in Oakville, Ontario. Mark and his three partners were employed with Hewlett-Packard Canada in technical management positions. The company went public through a reverse takeover in 1986 after raising a private placement of $3,000,000. The three partners acquired his entire interests at the time of going public.

Mark is a graduate from the University of Toronto with a graduate degree in Business. Mr. Borkowski has spoken at 29 national conferences on Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Entrepreneurism.

Mark has qualifed as an “Expert Witness” and prepares Expressions of Value for a variety of purposes. Mark has appeared in legal proceedings. Mark is a regular columnist for a number of industrial trade and commercial publications. He writes columns on entrepreneurism and other commerical subjects. He has writen over 750 articles.

He was the former Chairman of the Association for Corporate Growth and a Director of the MIT/Schulich Enteprise Forum.


Mercantile Mergers & Acquisitions Corporation ("Mercantile") was incorporated in August 1987. Mercantile is a mid-market mergers & acquisitions brokerage with an exclusive focus on company divestitures and acquisitions.

Mercantile has two full time staff members. Gordon Brooke, C.A. who is a Senior Financial Analyst and William Willard who is a Researcher.

As an intermediary, to date, Mercantile has consummated 93 transactions in a number of industries and market sectors. Transaction sizes have ranged in amounts of $ 1 million to $43,000,000. The majority have involved large strategic international multi-national suitors.
