Impact’s activities attract top entrepreneurial students and we are committed to recognizing their achievements. The Impact awards program allows students to be nominated by their colleagues, peers, professors and employers. All nominees are reviewed by a Selection Committee where one individual per award is selected as the recipient.

This award is presented to an individual who has highlighted his/her exceptional entrepreneurial insight by initiating and leading a successful venture. This venture can either be a self-started business, non-profit organization or community group.

At the age of 13, Skawenniio spearheaded a campaign to have a local library built in her community. She rallied and inspired the Kahnawake Mohawk Territory by leading fundraisers and book drives to achieve her goal.

This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated a strong performance in the development and deployment of a unique product or service that recognizes a particular need in the market.

Abdullah is the creator of Foss Factory, a revolutionary enterprise that accelerates open source development using a bounty model website. This venture, designed to provide software solutions by programmers, avoids many of the drawbacks of its predecessors.

This award is presented to an individual who’s entrepreneurial endeavour has positively impacted society. This venture can either be a self-started business, non-profit organization or community group.

As a non-profit organization, the International Information Committee for Humanitarian Relief (IICHR) aims to provide a platform for individuals and organizations around the world to find information, inspiration, and get involved in improving global development. Leading hundreds of university students across Ontario and some parts of the United States, IICHR executed a real-time assessment of humanitarian needs and exposed examples of political corruption that impeded aid distribution.

This award has been established to recognize one student’s outstanding leadership qualities, as well as his/her initiative in bringing forth positive change. The individual may be involved either on campus or in the community.

Prerna completed her high school in only three years, during which she was able to contribute almost 800 hours of community service to many organizations including MYAC Mississauga, World Vision, Canadian Cancer Society, and International Youth Parliament to name a few. Prerna was awarded business excellence awards and was promoted as young entrepreneurship by the Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce. She is currently working on her latest initiative W.O.M.E.N (Women seeking Opportunities and Mentors for Empowerment Network).
